I was very sad to hear that Kitchenette is going away, simply for the “Behind Closed Ovens” series. Seriously, go binge read them before they’re gone! Anyways, my story from when I worked at Jimmy Johns as a delivery driver made it in this week.

Here’s a picture of my ‘98 S-10 that I used to make my deliveries in. I miss that truck.

Stupid how they’re going to just delete everything. Why can’t they keep it in one of the sub-blogs that are still left?

The behind closed ovens stories were my favorites.

NO MORE BCO? :(

I saw the first story and was like “Hey a name I recognize!”

Of course they go and take down one of the few sub-blogs actually worth reading.

WHY????

That surprised me today. Hell of a story! I can almost see the Crazy Eyes of the Straw Lady..

I am going to miss BCO. I never got to share my time at a family owned Polish restaurant.

Sweet S-10!

When is that happening? I couldn’t find anywhere to read about it.

It sucks that BCO is going away, now what the hell am I going to laugh at every Monday morning? It’s not fair goddammit!!

Also, when I saw your story, I thought it was really cool that you got on there.

I know, right! I only found it a few months ago.

I didn’t see a date in the thing I read. I don’t actually know if they’re going to delete it, or just let it go dormant. I always assume the worst.

She was REALLLLLY good looking to. I can’t tell you how much I wish that story went differently.

That S-10 was a great little truck. I should’ve kept it!

Nice, cool you got to deliver a sandwich to Dog the Bounty Hunter, shame you couldn’t become Pup the Bounty Hunter.

Man I loved reading those. All the insane crap that servers had/have to put up with and how sometimes, just sometimes they manage to get their own back or karma lends a helping hand.

Yeah, Behind Closed Ovens is the best part of Monday.

BCO was the best, I would always send them to my wife who used to work in food service. It was a great way to start off a Monday.

They won’t be deleted. They’ll either be at an orphaned sub-domain (similar to http://detroit.jalopnik.com ) or merged into the main page.

Aw, man. I always used to cheer a bit when I saw stories from Jalops make the cut. Loved that feature. I think I still have this week’s open in tabs to read later.

I’d always do the same. Or even if I saw a Jalop’s comment with a bunch of stars. Hopefully BCO will find a home elsewhere!

That’s a relief. I’m disappointed to see Lifehacker’s Workshop blog go. The Garage is pretty cool, though.
